Another View Hello Fellow Posters,
I too, have seen this little girl on TV and I have my own doubts about whether a god or creator would allow such a thing as this. Unfortunately, being a combat Veteran, this is not the first time I have seen children in this predicament. My perspective on the idea of god and religion was forever altered by seeing women and children killed and maimed for whatever reason, none of which relates to an all-powerful, loving god. Which brings me to the question of why would a loving god allow something like this? As children, none of us have a choice in how we enter this world. That decision is made by 2 other people. Whether they love us or despise us at birth is a 50/50 proposition at best. Some of us are born into families that care about us and provide a loving environment for us to grow, learn and prosper. Unfortunately, there are many, many children born to abusive or non-caring parents, or in a war zone and basically abused and tortured from Day 1. If god is so loving and cares for us so much, how can some children enter the world under such difficult circumstances? If later on in Julianne's life, she becomes an atheist or agnostic and spits in the face of anyone who tells her that god loves her, who can blame her? Because of modern medicine, she will at least be able to live life to a certain degree. But what of the children born with this condition 100 years ago? What is loving about afflicting an innocent child to this type of condition? Religion, as far as Im concerned, is a form of brainwashing, and the whole idea of a Loving God is pure bullsh_t. I have never in my lifetime really ever seen believers live any better than anyone else. They have the same problems and issues as non-believers. I, for one , intend to live my life free of the mind-shackles of God and Religion. I can see things clearly and for what they are instead of what I want them to be. One saying Ive heard over the years is definitely true, THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE. Without religion, the bible and a "loving" god, my mind is definitely FREE |
