Default Christianity & vegetarianism

And all the creatures,
which are under heaven,
each according to its nature,
serve,
know and obey their Creator better than you !
And even the demons did not crucify Christ,
but you,
together with them have crucified Him
and even now you crucify (Him) by delighting in vices and sins

Saint Francis of Assisi

Genesis 9:3

Everything that lives and moves will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.

This means that before God gave them everything people were only eating fruits and vegetables. God allowed the human race to slaughter and eat animals, but for a specific reason,Moses commanded it was fine only because of the hardness of people,s hearts, this was the state of people after "the fall", but Gods intentions were that people only be allowed to eat it for a certain period of time, because it was God who sent Jesus to teach a new way,and that way involves being a vegetarian.God did not want the Israelites to make sacrifices, it was their choice

Isaiah 43:23

I have not burdened thee with a meal-offering, Nor wearied thee with frankincense.

Animal sacrifices were not commanded by God,the israelites made their own decisions about that, their own stubborness like that of many people today led them to eat meat and make up excuses for why they did so,often in the name of God,despite the prophets of God warning them to make every effort to steer clear,God would rather have had nothing to do with it,and only through his patience and grace does he stand for the mistreatment of the creatures he created

For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them on the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices; but this thing I commanded them, saying, "Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you - Jeremiah 7:22-23

Christians who are not vegetarian are disobeying Gods laws,Jesus ,like his brother James was a vegetarian, and took no delight in the sacrafice of animals for food or clothing,Hegesippus gives an account of James, the first ruler of the Christian Church in Jerusalem. It is said James never drank alchohol, and never ate the flesh of animals.

Even the clothes he wore were linen garments only. We also know from the examples of the Rechabites, the Nazarites, the Nazarenes, and the Essenes that they never ate meat

From the earliest times Gods prophets have spoken against the eating of meat, the abuse of animals, the whole bible speaks of vegetarianism, from genesis, through the new testament, and from the saints of medieval times,to many modern christian and Jewish philosophers today, many christians,Jews and Muslims should have learned, yet so many remain ignorant to the laws which Jesus and the Gods he worshipped asked us to observe, ignorant to the moral obligations we have towards animals

Jesus said "Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and the birds that are slain by men , Blessed are they who keep this law, for God is manifested in all creatures. All creatures live in God, and God is hid in them"
