| To our American friends Is it really that bad in the USA.
I swich on Foxnews. Blatent bias towards the Republicans. Outragious suppression by O'Reilly of anything opposing Bush and the Republicans.
Worst of all everybody is quoting God. |

| I don't really know what to say. There is a lot of polarization.
I've always said that the U.S. does not have more stupid people than any other country but that the stupid people talk more.
I believe that a majority of people who have heard Bill O'Reilly must not like him. I can't imagine that a significant number of people actually respect that guy. He's a complete idiot. No logic capabilities at all.
The God quoting: a lot of people hate that but there is nothing we can do about it. There is no way to stop it.
I hope Falwell is burning in hell.

| Please don't judge us by our TV. It is entirely absolute GARBAGE from channel to channel with only a few redeaming shows.
We are recoiling from 9/11 still and the effects are fading. The 24 hour news network popularity is the result of 9/11 and they have to polarize to show voters. People want to see fights and car wrecks and polarized non-bending opinions with name calling.
The 24 hour news networks give the minority crazy psychos a huge pulpit. Moderation and intelligence don't get ratings. But america is a wonderful place to live with awesome freedoms and opportunities. And there is much good in the media and populous here. It's just the the media feeds off the bottom rung of the population.
The internet is coming into its own and we're just beginning to utilize it and its changing the face of journalism and soon the 24 hour news networks and the politicians will have to adapt to it.
I think what's been happening is that there's a time of transition into new telecommunications technology and the politicians and pundits and polarizers have utilized it. Now people are realizing that anyone can get a voice.
Want to know what the intelligent and forward thinking americans watch? Turn on John Stewart or Stephen Colbert. They've been two amazing fake news commedian pundits who have driven the 24 hour news networks crap into the light of day and nailed politicians for trying to twist the power of telecoms for use as a tool of fear.
America is an awesome nation.

| I hope you enjoy. I am experiencing a schism from reality and managing to cope thanks to this video. Its worth the 2 hours. I tried watching in its entirety, but couldn't....
I had to stop during part III. I was literally clutching onto my chair for something tangible. http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...arch&plindex=3 |

| Hey Og,
duck is oh so correct ... very well said, very well indeed!
I've said it before .... the real people who are Americans are not what you see on TV or what our politicians say or do. Our country is too vast to pigeon hole us into one stereotype.

| I canceled my cable subscription about a year after 9/11 as I saw TV content going in the toilet and I haven't looked back. TV is not all that america is about. There are a large number of manipulatable couch potato rednecks out there that don't think gay's should settle down (or whatever pat robertson tells them to believe). This basis for the republican crazy radical conservatives is loud and constant. This is what TV speaks to.

| When will you people learn to watch the BBC. They may not be any more intelligent but they speak in nicer accents.
