So, because I have this torrid love affair with Google, I decided to have it define religion for me. 99% of the answers referenced something about the supernatural or a deity, but many also said "generally" or "usually" and many more stated it has to do with a belief system, code of ethics, etc. One in particular strayed:
(Latin: religio, ligo, "to bind together") A way of seeing, thinking, and acting inspired by questions about what things mean: ie Where did we come from?, What is our destiny?, What is true?, What is false?, What is my duty or obligation?, What is the meaning of suffering?, What is the meaning of death?, How shall we live? (Ezekiel 33:10)
I find it ironic that it's from the Bible.
Then I looked up 'religious':
extremely scrupulous and conscientious; "religious in observing the rules of health"
But still, most referenced piety and a belief in God.
Not taking a side, just would like to see if this adds anything.
