I subscribe to the belief that there is spirit in every living thing.

Exactly. I love that some cultures would thank an animal before they ate it.

Ive studied it. Its a great philosophy on life and nature. I cant really get into the spells and the ritual magic parts myself. Not that i dont believe it cant be done but more along the line of why should it be done. I see alot of similarities in pagan and christian beliefs just slightly modified. If i remember right didnt St Augustine once practice paganism and converted alot of the holidays and beliefs into the Christan religion? If someone knows me more please correct me.

I study the pagan religion myself...wicca. It is a nature based religion that does practice spells & magick. We don't eat animals. LOL! The religion believes in duel deity (god & goddess), reincarnation , peace & tranquiltity, the elements, using magick to create what is needed in your life and more.

It is a fascinating subject but a much controversial one.

The few folks I know who practice one form of pagan belief or another seem to have a reverence for nature and for the interrelatedness of the spiritual and the material. Some have found the best expression for them was in practicing white magic; one friend of mine is into the Pictan tradition of magic (which he tells me draws strongly on the power of the earth itself).

I have never really bothered studing religion after the studing I had to do when my parents had me going to a Southern Baptist Church but I have always been a witch. Not wiccian, but a witch. I didn't know anything about Wicca until I was around 16 years old and I declaired myself a witch when I was around 5-6 years old. It is just something I have always felt inside myself, even through I never studied it. I was actually very surprised to find out that there are actually schools that you can go to, to learn to be a witch. I find that so funny, but not half as funny as some of the television shows on TV. Man if I could do half of the things those shows can I would be unstoppable.

I find many elements of neo-paganism attractive-its nature based spirituality, the balance a power between the male and female aspects, etc. But I could never get into it because, overall, I’m skeptical about the supernatural. I don’t know one way or the other if there are gods or goddesses, or what effect performing any sort of Magic might have. As well as the questions: Should I be so presumptuous as to believe it would have an effect? and Am I qualified enough to know what I'm doing if it does?

It just wasn’t a good fit for me. That being said, there are a few elements of it I have incorporated into my own spiritual (for lack of a better word) practice.
