Default Beliving in God.

I was speaking to a christian friend today and asked him the question "If a child is born and if he/she dies that very same day, does this mean this baby will be raised in hell as it did not have faith or believe in God?" I'm not going to say his answer as I would like to discuss this in this forum. Cheers.

A "fundamental christian" response would be to say yes that child is going to hell because it was born in a state of "original sin" and was never baptised. This is why "fundamental christianity" IMHO is such a bunch dysfunctional, spiritually retarded b.s. What kind of "God" would allow that? Of course there is no such a place as "hell" or the "devil" so this is a non starter.

lol this is the exact opposite of the answer i recieved i was told " no because the child was not in a age of having true faith" so i asked what age would this be and he said " when the person knows from right and wrong" I then went on to say what if the child was born mentaly challenged and therefore will not ever learn the consept of right and wrong and let alone faith" Never got a replay.

I suppose nothing is better then the replay i alway's seem to get if Christians are stuck "God works in misterius way's".

Fundamental Christians make it up as they go along but refuse to admit it. Thats actually the same as the rest of us but at least we admit what we dont know and try to back up what we do know with common sense, evidence, logic and when all else fails, love. Christians feel they know the absolute ultimate truth about everything "because it is written" and when they are contradicted and dont have an explanation, they freak out and use "God works in mysterious ways" as their cop out default cowardly answer. It takes courage to face "mystery" in the darkness of heavy handed societal religious norms and to ask why. We are all one. Lets hope that by challenging our "christian" brethren we can wake them up and help them along in their spiritual evolution.
