Default The 7 Deadly Sins..or..the new ones at least....

The Catholic church recently issued 7 "new" deadly sins. For those who have not seen or heard about it, here is a link http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/com...cle3517050.ece Does anyone else find it odd that now, when more and more people are becoming athiest or at least agnostic, the chuch decides to "update" its sins to fit todays world?

lol i forgot that the church was allowed to do that. i sort of thought the deadly sins had become canonized. one of my main disagreements with catholicism was the athority of the pope. i mean, the well being of my soul depends entirely on which sins this man decides are "deadly"? well anyways, i don't see how they think this is going to help the church grow, unless they are just trying to gain followers with scare tactics. i thought it was funny when the pope complained about secularized people were "making do without god"... yeah, i can see how that would be a problem for the church.

So what happens to the people who committed some of those new deadly sins before they got the new memo?

Has the pope actually opened his eyes to the disgusting wealth on display in his own workplace? Surely that has got to be classified as 'obscenely rich'...??

Remember though, catholic law does not apply to catholics, like not murdering, lying, being jealous, treating "thy neighbor as thyself"...etc.The fact that this sin doesnt apply to them either is no suprise.

Funny how religions that portend to embody complete truth constantly feel the need to update their precepts.
