| In my heaven they have memory erasing machines. Once you get bored with something.... ***ZAP*** and its all fun again!!! They will have different sections of heaven. Like star wars heaven, chillin on the beach heaven, superman heaven, ect. It will be like a giant video game, go be a jedi for a while... go drink a beer on the beach, go fly around a city. You can hang out by yourself, go chill with other people, compete in sports or whatever. This is just based on what I know. The supreme being of the universe must have some cool things to do. I mean he was the original immortal right?

| Heaven was always kind of mystery to me even being in a religious setting. According to the Bible once the earth was destroyed and Christ created a new earth, believers would spend eternity serving him. Well despite the fact sin would supposedly be no longer present( and i know i'm skipping a lot of details ) being human i would get tired of that after a while. Even if eternity is some kind of wacked out consciousness we're not even aware of it would have to get old, and either another uprising would happen like Lucifer's or free will would be non-existent. Thinking about that leaves heaven a little on the unappealing side.

| We'r born, we live, we die end of story, no afterlife.
I can't really come with any argument for it, but I have yet to see proof for anything different.

I can't really come with any argument for it, but I have yet to see proof for anything different. | That goes for everyone else's beliefs about what happens after death, too. In saying that, I agree. We live, we die, we become apart of the Earth, we're eaten, our energy is released, someone or something will take the energy.
Isn't that enough of an afterlife? To be able to hold energy and do what you will while you have it, then relinquish your grip and hand it off to someone else for them to use as they will, and so on and so forth. Just handing off the torch to the next person. |

| Warning: This answer is completely in Buddhist terms. I'm not intentionally promoting it. But as it's only one of two religious/philosophical viewpoints I've studied in the past year, it will have its influence on my thinking. But anyway...
One big theme in Buddhism's is the elimination of 'attachment' to/craving for..everything (e.g. money, comfort, concepts), and I'm assuming that would include the elimination of attachment to novelty or change.
Without that need for novelty, I'm also assuming one would be fine with eternal existence (just as without a need for a spouse, one would be fine being single).
So let's also say that with entering heaven, you automatically lose all attachments. Which may be just as scientific_one describes: no attachment to sex, to 'good' tastes, or any other pleasurable senses. And even further, no attachment to more abstract things, such as intimacy, acceptance, or novelty.
It seems the consequence of this would be that while we could do anything we wanted, we wouldn't want to do anything (wouldn't have any attachments). But on the other hand, we would also be fine with not wanting to do anything (that is, we wouldn't have any attachment to ambition, novelty, or whatever else). And we would end up with this feeling of complete neutrality (that we'd also be okay with).
Okay, so that doesn't make a happy heaven (although it wouldn't be sad either). But just an idea... |

| If there was a god, and there was a heaven, then he should just make it where basic human nature, such as the ability to ba angry/sad/jealous, basically anything but happy, would be nonexistant. Without that, then nothing that a heaven could hold for us would be quite a great place, no matter how much candy there was or how many priviledges we had. Therefore, it would almsot be like we werent even really human, which just makes me question the reality of god even more, and whether or not he exists. Heaven in my mind, isnt such a great place if we would be able to experience such emotions as i mentioned before, but that of course almost doesnt make sense, because then we would almost be robots, and who wants that? The more you think about it , the more confusing it is. It's like either a heaven couldnt possobly exist, or our human minds arent quite able to comprehend it, or maybe it's both...and now of course im just rambling. So i'll jus leave it at that =)

| I could accept virtually any concept of heaven or hell, or for that matter, of a supreme being. if only it made sense to me. I could believe that the Christian concept of God I grew up with is either the one who wants all his children to live with him in a city with pearly gates and streets of gold, or the one who sentences them to eternal damnation because the propensities he created them with actually play out in their lives. But not both.
That dichotomy is simply incomprehensible to me, and I'm left to believe that if God wanted me to act completely on faith, then he shouldn't have created me with a mind capable of rational thinking.
