Of course I fear dying. Most people fear the unknown. But I don't waste time on fear. It's a small percentage that pushes me to like living.

Can you elaborate a bit on that?

More to the point...
Are you afraid to attack your own fears?
Make more of your life. I like that one also, 'most' implies there's a limit to what you can make out of your life. I think 'more' more accurately reflects our nature.
Both the fear of life and death play into unknowns, but to not fear them would be quite irrational, yes?

Your first question ... waxing lyrical a little bit, but Campbell seems to use the phrase often. I take it mean life is red in tooth and claw.... be part of it....or the Disneyish great Great Circle of Life. Life feeds off death; death off life.... not a hundred percent sure.
On the second point I'm not sure we fear the unknown ... more likely we fear what we cannot (or do not) control.

i agree that we fear things that we have no control over, but if a person was contemplating suicide, i don't think control is the issue. they're more likely to be afraid of not knowing what happens after death.

Duh! Not knowing what happens after death is what drives so many otherwise logical humans into accepting one or another religion that provides those answers. After all, a vision of pearly gates and streets of gold, or 70 virgins, is way preferable to checking out with no clue as to what lies ahead.
