Default Does anyone know if this is true?

Wikipedia Claims
Quote:
After a private conversation between [King Charles VII of France and Joan of Arc] (during which, Charles later stated, "Joan the Maid of Lorraine" (because she united France under one King) revealed herself to know secrets about himself that he had voiced only in silent prayer to God),
Does anyone know if this is true?

Yeah, I read that , (in my ladybird book on Joan).

Two possibilities.
1) She had divine contact with Yahweh and he told her.And its true.
2) The Nobility and clergy of the time did not beleive her, but they needed some quasi-easy to say- impossible to disprove miracle, and simply tagged it on. They were working on a french prophecy that a "maiden" would save them from teh english, Joan fitted nicely.

Just to clarify, does possibility 2 mean that Charles didn't actually say that, and the nobility and clergy made up the story of him saying it?

Also, it wouldn't have to be Yahweh. It could just as easily have been any other god (including one that doesn't exist anymore) or some invisible pixie that then planted the info in Joan's head. Or, Joan could have had an innate mind-reading ability. There's no evidence that any of these things exist, of course, but the same is true of Yahweh. Anyway, none of this answers my original question, which is simply, "do you know if this is actually historically documented as happening"?

Oh, and what's a "ladybird book"?

I tend to use Wikipedia to look up facts.
