Like all religions, this one probably only needs one Commandment which would be "Thou Shalt Keep Thy Religion To Thy Self".... But considering that we are dealing with the masses here, we are probably gonna have to do better than that.

Awaiting further revelations.

Now lets look closely at this

what you believe to be true
what can be proven to be true

Well right off the bat I can see immediate confrontation and contradiction between the two.
You can believe for the life of you that there is no chair behind you but if their is in fact a chair behind you we immediately have a problem. We have a conflict in our own tenant of conjoining personal and subjective truth.
.....
what does this have to do with whether religious texts are entirely fabricated or not? OK I may be mistaken about the chair behind me, but I will check for evidence before I become to dogmatic one way the other?

I'm sorry I don't follow your logic.

al the best.
I'm sorry about this, I didn't specify that the upper half and lower halves of the post where separate form one another. I meant them to be two different responses. You make check out about the chair but what about in the case of the alcaholic wher ehe may be mentally at a point where he cannot check the evidence, in his eyes the truth is he is fine while in the rest of the worlds eyes he isnt and therefor the personal and proven truths are conflicting.
