| Celebrating Christmas? I was raised in a Christian home and for the past 4 years have been trying to find my own opinion about everything. I am no longer Christian. I don't believe there is a God. I hope there is some sort of after life so we can be with family and friends. But I'm still finding myself with everything. I have always celebrated Christmas and Easter but now that I don't believe in God I am confused. I was wondering what others do. Do you still celebrate the season? I have a christmas tree and all haha. |

| Already? Wow you do like Christmas.
Like I said when I first got on this forum to a lady with kids. What is an agnostic or an athiest supposed to do and still maintain the status quo?
Simple make Christmas or Easter a celebration of Life. You don't even have to have it the same day. Personally I think New Years is the best of all holidays and hey we all survived another year! As far as Easter goes make it something else. Make it real you know to have fun with... no magic, miracles, or voodoo. What do you appreciate? Celebrate that in Easter fashion or create your own holiday. I hate saying this but I saw the episode and it didn't make me laugh at all. Seinfeld had a Festivus for the Restivus. Whatever. Seinfeld never made me laugh like Cheers so... maybe I am pretty low brow.

| I celebrate Jól on the winter solstice, plus both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Jól is the closest I've ever gotten to an actual religious observance, as I raise a glass of mead to the Norse gods.
In the spring I celebrate Ostara on the equinox and an extended version of Easter that lasts till the Cadbury Mini-Eggs run out. (Last year we ate six pounds of them over about a month and a half.)
To me, the holidays are times to get together with family and friends, string pretty lights all over the place, exchange presents, and prepare wonderful meals. |

| As a Satanist I don't celebrate religious holidays for religious purpose. I do celebrate Christmas because it reminds me of my mom and dad and the happy family times we had together. I also buy presents for my mom since she's elderly and mentally ill. I just like to get the paid days off

| As a Satanist... what does the Satanic Church do in observance or on a holiday that comes close to Christmas. Really shouldn't the Satanic Church be called the Satanic Society rather than a church or do the subsidies override?

| I always have a decorated Christamas tree with lights on Christmas
It's just because I like it, like it, like it
Other than that I don't celebrate Christmas, it's just leisure time for me.
There's a special atmosphere so I try to avoid causing trouble on Christmas as most of Christians do at the time

| Oh, I celebrate holidays, but not for the religious significance. It would be silly to do so. Although my mom did have us sing happy birthday to Jesus on Christmas... Scary times, I know. |

| Hello and welcome.
I participate some holidays, but I do not celebrate them. I see it as a reason to get together when family and friends. As for christmas, I could care less about exchanging presents or the religious undertones. I just focus on family and food.

It's full of politics that bore me to be honest.
I guess each person is different. Some Satanist follow certain myths and symbols. They might have no tree. Some might have a tree full of dead baby doll heads! Who knows?! I like Christmas trees because they smell good and remind me of my childhood with my father. He passed away when I was only 11. So I like to hold on to those happy memories.
