Thought this was cool and worthwhile:

Herein also lies the greatest difference between Scholarpedia and traditional print media: while the initial authorship and review processes are similar to a print journal so that Scholarpedia articles could be cited, they are not frozen and outdated, but dynamic, subject to an ongoing process of improvement moderated by their curators. This allows Scholarpedia to be up-to-date, yet maintain the highest quality of content.

I booked it too. Although it has been my experience that people who talk to each other about tech stuff don’t really lie when they know they are talking to a teckie. I see more the tech guy over stating the truth of what science knows or states interpretation as fact to a non-tech person.

Wikipedia has a much broader range than this. Every article I saw seemed to be about science....'shudders'

I've added this to my Firefox toolbar, as I'm entering a B.Sc. program this fall and see this as potentially very useful.

It would be kind of cool to have a similar resource for the humanities, however... Serious literary critiques, history, classics, linguistics... Anyone know if such a peer-reviewed site exists?

It's funny I thought the science was way too narrow .... fairly limited number of fields.
