I suspect that people who do not believe in God covet his status and wish to elevate themselves to his position by removing him from the equation and elevating themselves to a status equal to his own.. this of course, only exists in their minds but it does satisfy their insecurities I think | Why would those people do that? |
usually, a person will deny the existence of God to stifle a nagging conscience so that they can continue down a path of self gratification unabated. It has a lot to with a person’s upbringing I think
example: if they were raised in a very strict religious home yet secretly desired to engage lustful acts of sin and debauchery they may seek to kill God in their mind hoping the guilt they feel over their own twisted behavior will subside
problem is, it doesn’t and they go through life bitter and angry and snap at people who attempt to help them out of this self perpetuating cycle
