| No, I mostly just drank a lot.
And I really, really dislike rowling. I don't care if her books sell-they are terrible. Parts of them are blatantly stolen from other novels, and the story is stupid anyway. I just don't understand how anyone can like them. Like you said, they are kids books. They aren't good literature. Anyone who praises them for their literary merit is retarded.

| jaej .... speaking of vomit. So did you do the whole drink till you passed out or drink till you barfed barfing is the worst thing that comes with drinking ... that and a two day hangover! So glad I got that our of my system years ago.
As long as kids (and/or adults) are reading ... it's a good thing and she's entitled to all the money she makes, if if she did get ideas from other people. She made it work ... wished I would have thought of it! I know people who have barely got thru high school and as adults ... they read a Harry Potter book and got hooked ... they have read all of them and are impatient with the wait! Now they read all those books you despise but thankfully they are now reading and watching reruns of Walker, Texas Ranger or of that ilk.
You said you played Pokémon all day on Memorial day .... hmmmm ... to each their own .... I think video games are a waste of time but I still buy them all the time for Alex ... yeah he likes the Pokémon one also ... which version are you playing?
I swear I don't intend to sound mean saying this, really! I swear! You need to be a little more laid back on things ... not everything you eat is good for you, not everything that is written is good but it's a waste of your talent to put so much energy in what keeps the "masses" running. You are in a small percentage of the population that is extremely intelligent. Don't become one of those guys that look down his nose at the "little people" who aren't as smart or choose not to use what little gray matter they have. So what if they read garbage, so what if they think stupid things ... your goal is to go out into the world and soak up more wisdom. Part of the wisdom you soak up in a university and the rest is learned thru living. You've been a cognitive person for only a few years to be so opinionated give yourself a few more years of living before you get so hardcore. I think that once you've lived away from home a few years and have all the headaches of bills, rent, utilities and such you have a broader base in which you've walked in the "everyday" man's shoes. Wait until you're old and decrepit like me before you have such determination on worthless endeavors. I love ya' kid but you need to lighten up sometimes,

| Lol I started with diamond version this time around, but a few days ago I bought pearl too..and leafgreen so I can get the old ones.
I've had it for a month today, and I already have 80 hours playing time. I haven't played it since I was a kid, I forgot how addicting it is.
Have alex give me his friend code and we can trade..I've got some pretty rare ones if he's got anything good..I migrated a charizard, and I have a shiny shinx and a shiny buizel. I'd be willing to give any of them up for a milotic, can't seem to find that one..
And deb, seriously, I am a laid back person. Honestly. Lately I've been laid back almost to the point of apathy. I just REALLY REALLY REALLY don't like some things, one of which is Harry Potter.
And that's the weird thing. I didn't feel sick the whole night, but I layed down and I'm just like 'im gonna puke' and puke I did. I didn't feel sick before or after, and I wasn't hungover. It was one of the oddest drinking experiences I've ever had. Not as weird as getting sprayed in the face with a fire extinguisher though..

| As far as flying is concerned I recommend alcohol, it makes the time go quicker and takes the edge off the terror.
As far as reading is concerned I would like to do a bit of tub thumping for Neil Gaiman. Apart from the fact we have three second cousins in common he is hilarious. Good Omens is a masterpiece co-written with Terry Pratchett. And Anansi Boys might make you forget the theoretical impossibility of flying.
For historical fiction go for The Walled Orchard by Tom Holt. Again he is highly amusing but also a bit of a clever dick too. |

| I haven't gotten into Gaiman yet. But I like the little graphic novels he did with McKean. And I've read McKean's "Cages" which was phenomenal.

He just sold two shoe boxes of Pokémon cards for next to nothing! There were cards I had friends pick up for him while they were in Japan, holographic ones, first addition .... he is spoiled! Thankfully not spoiled rotten. Our trip was great .... for an agnostic I sure spent enough time in cathedrals and basilicas .... I can appreciate the art even if I disagree with the subject matter. Versailles was unbelievable! Switzerland awesome (went to a glacier) and Italy is a place I would like to revisit.
Harry Potter is no worse than Nancy Drew or the Hardy Boys when I was a kid. Anything that gets a kid to read is fine with me. Have you ever heard of a book called "Winkie"?

| No I have not.
Ask Alex he should know how to figure it out. It wouldn't make any sense to tell you.

| I bought Shermers "Why people believe wierd things"..so far its pretty good and I got the wisdom of Joseph campbell on audio, the shop owner said it was really cool since it has campbell talking on it himself. I also picked up Sagan's dragons of eden ($2 at a used book store), which even though was written in '77, still is really enjoyable. |
