Throw a comedy my way and I am good to go.A few of my favorites are Stick It and 50 First Dates.

Office Space
Any Mel Brooks film
The Matrix
The Big Lebowski
LOTR trilogy

Damn, I had a huge list and suddenly I'm blank. Probably because I'm thinking about all those great flicks...

The Crow
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
Jurrasic Park

That's it for starters.

Gone with the wind is certainly my favorite. A great Sunday afternoon movie when I really want to treat myself to a real goof off day.

Gosh.. favorite movies of all time?

Dirty Dancing
Grease
Sleepless in Seattle
Christmas Vacation

I know there are others, but I can't pull them up right now. There are certain movies that I just have to stop and watch if I see them on TV. I know every word, but I still have to watch!!!!

Default My list could be endless!

Movies are my life! I worked for long time as a writer/producer for television, specifically for a cable-movie channel. I usually watched 2 movies a day and went to the movie theater between 3 and 4 times a week. I've seen A LOT!!! But my all time favorites are so many... Here's my short list:
All That Jazz
The Sound of Music
Moulin Rouge
Casablanca
The Indiana Jones Trilogy
Mel Brooks: Young Frankenstein, High Anxiety, The History of the World I.
Pretty Woman
Grease
Erin Brokovich (and actually anything with Julia Roberts in it)
Crash
A blast from the past...
I have to stop, because I think I could be writing for a while!

I don't have a favorite movie. Too many good ones. But if aliens came down and said "What is this movie thing of yours?" I think Mulholland Dr. should be the ambassador for cinema.

I agree with the consensus on Mel Brooks esp Young Frankenstein with the much missed Madeleine Kahn. However the finest film ever made has to be Picnic at Hanging Rock, Peter Weir's first film before Truman Show and Master and Commander. Other great films are:

Gosford Park
Swiss Miss (Laurel and Hardy)
The Exorcist
Airplane
Life of Brian
The Big Sleep

Ghostbusters
Casablanca
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Help! (watched it at least 15 times over the past 42 years)
Tampopo
Animal House
My Neighbor Totoro
The Warriors
Heavy Metal
The Andromeda Strain

and, for the sheer agony of it all,

Plan Nine from Outer Space

I'm a big fan of comedy and animation. Rarely do I watch an action-adventure movie, because over the years I've become sensitized to graphic violence and loud, chaotic cinematography.

Jaej raises an interesting subtopic of favourite Bond films. I do have a fondness for The Spy Who Loved Me.
