There is nothing inherently insincere about 'deliberately' spreading ideas, facts, information. You see what you want to see.

A lot of Americans believe that propaganda has negative connotations because the Nazi used it in WWII. It's a perception our politicians started. The word itself doesn't suggest the spreading of lies, just information.

To further one's own cause or to damage an opposing cause....doesn't sound very sincere to me.

Although when I posted it was rash and incomplete. Insincerity is more the connotation than the denotation of propaganda, so in that I agree jayhawker.

Regardless of whether or not it's sincere, doesn't mean it's fake and made-up.
And I know about early Christianity, I wasn't asking for your bitter explanations. I was merely pointing out that 'beginning' is relative, and I think our argument was pointless because I was referring to a broader span of time.
