It doesn't matter how they were originally told. The ethnic inflection can be about a literal person/time/event. The underlying elementary idea is what people see in the lives of people like JC. The metaphors (even if they speak to something that originally was considered literal) speak to the nature of the prophet.

The virgin birth is not about a literal birth.. It's about the divine nature of his teachings. It's about a spiritual birth different from the rest of humanity. It's about a psychological transformation.

doesn't look like we're attracting that many christians ... at least from the dates they've posted their declarations and they haven't stayed around if they are ..... yes I know we have BB, composter and abel but I'm talking about the others ..... just Moe, Curley and Larry ... the 3 apostles ....

sorry BB, couldn't resist the temptation .... been a long day and I'm trying to get some humor back into my life ... you guys just happen to be my "whipping boys"

Catholic? Just guessing, based on Croatia being your home. Where at? I spent about six months in Slavonski Brod back in '98. I took a class in Serbo-Croatian, but it's been so long I can't say that I remember much... Oh, and welcome aboard. Hope you have fun here!
