To be Christian means, to me at least, to be a follower and believer in Jesus. Now please, don't get lost in the simplicity of that statement. Jesus said a great many things, both about his relation to 'The Father', how one should conduct oneself, etc. To say that one is Christian means to believe and practice everything that Jesus said (the red text in those KJV Bibles). With that in mind, I doubt many human beings could consider themselves Christian Which brings me to a lively joke that I'm reminded of:

[open-mindedness required]

When Jesus went back up to Heaven, God approached him immediately, rather flustered. "Jesus, how am I going to have enough room for all your Christians? Now I have to 'prepare a room' for each and every one of them!" Jesus and God, then, gathered up all the angels and spent the next few years running all around heaven, building millions of rooms for all the incoming Christians.

To this day, they're still waiting for the first Christian to enter heaven.

In my 4 years of doing the rounds of the internet religious boards, i've only ever seen about half-a-dozen people who I'm convinced are going to heaven out of all the hundreds I've known, they've got a Forrest Gump-type of innocence about them that puts the rest of us in the shade and I wish I was like them, not an ounce of nastiness in them..
Jesus wants that sort -"Become as little children" (Matt 18:3)

Default Christians

Christians are those who have accepted the way Jesus pointed out by His teachings and His examples. I have never heard that the word "christian" was defined as "little Christs". If that is the actualy meaning of the word, then we Christians have lots to live up to, dont we?

If you pronounce that Jesus is the Son of God, then you are saved; being saved is to be a "Christian". I think this is mentioned all over the place in the bible, feel free to look it up.

Default Classifying Christianity

Also if you attend church regularly, you are then a born-again Christian. I think there are other things like tything, and baptism as a sign of faith, not to mention the belief that an acting member is in a community of the forgiven. I Think that people would have to live like they are christian without swearing or committing the attrocity of breaking the ten commandments, but this is Jewish law and you would have to subject yourself to those customs in order to consider them true, which is where Christ comes in and gives the command: "Love your neighbor as yourself and believe in the Lord your God with all your heart soul and mind." I think that there are also reliances on revivals and bringing others into the church body which makes you "christian" because you are sharing this with other people. Not to mention that you should confess your sins regularly, I think this includes the fact that your sins become less and less and your guilt should do the same to make you really christian, you should have sex in the missionary position (haha) read my post: http://www.agnosticforums.com/evolut...intings-2.html
