| Abel, I was actually 28 at the 'younger' time I was referring to. Following your argument though, I guess it was unfortunate for me that at that time God didn't think I was as mature as you were when you were 10. Anyway, I don't think I'll follow your advice and beg Jesus again. I'm at a point in my thinking where if I thought God was talking to me, I'd go to a psychiatrist before I'd got to a church. |

| what is curious s that if you told a doctor all of this you would be considered psychotic and be prescribed meds .... people just don't "hear" voices and not be considered imbalanced.... not disputing you because "to each there own" but what you push is not what most of us experience.
Oh and BTW ..... kids believe in easter bunnies, fairy godmother's and all the rest but that doesn't make them more or less real does it? and kids always believe in God if they are taught that.
None, not one of you who believe in God can give any of us one bit of tangible proof other than your faith and belief that there is "something" out there ....
Oh and who decides whom is mature enough to hear God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Satan or little green men's voice .... I understand some of you are true believers and believe it with your whole being
but why are you so hell bent that we "have" to believe .... it's our choice, we're adults .... do you honestly think that those of us on this forum haven't done soul searching, haven't prayed time and time again, beseeched whomever, whatever for just a little friggin sign that we needed to carry us thru our search ...... nope .... nada ... not even a busy signal ... so if you want to convert anyone around here then you need to come forth with a little more than blind faith, or hearing voices or some 2,000 year old, picked over book ....
so far people have listened to your faith based gobbly-gook but you, just like the rest of the sheep that follow this line of thought, have absolutely nothing to base your beliefs on other than bible and others words ..... I respect your right to believe in what ever you want but come prepared with something more than this same old tired BS ..
we get your kind in here all the time and none of you have anything new to say ... just more garbage in garbage out ..... how about something new get creative ... say you saw jesus or something ..... otherwise dude, move on to something new!
Kay is right ... are you here to converse or convert?

| deb: I'm with you on the Jesus thing, but please don't knock my belief in the Easter Bunny. I know in my heart that it is only by His divine grace that I get a sugar rush |

| Kay ohhhhhhhh ..... damn! talk about being right in front of my face .... not seeing the trees for the forest and all those other cliches!
Do you think I've lost my chance with him having turned aside from his magnificence in the past or is he a forgiving prince?
Damn I just keep kissing the frogs with no luck!

BTW, we don't have millions of dollars flowing into our church. We are a small (75 member) church who are struggling to pay to have some renovations made. | Con artists first task is to con himself.
What you're saying is nothing that the practitioners of thousands of dead religions and superstition throughout time have said. The human brain is a marvelous pattern seeking machine and will contrive all manner of things out of random noise.
It's breathtaking how strong this feature is in between our ears.
But really, Abel. I have gone the path you've gone. I sought God and didn't find him out there. It wasn't until I realized that We were One that I really understood the truth of the divine. That's when I truly understood Jesus' message and I became Christ.
