Default A Moral Conflict

I take issue with a certain passage in the Bible, namely that of Exodus 21, which i have expressed dissatisfaction for in another thread. I would just like to make the point that it is a contradiction to advocate both the "Golden Rule", that is treating people the way you would want to be treated and slavery. Does anyone else see a moral conflict here?

If so, it brings into question the infallibility of the Bible as it claims to be the Living Word of God...

The laws delivered in exodus (such as the golden rule from moses) only apply to the chosen people of isaac's bloodline (the hebrews/jews). The people who are not yahweh's chosen are to be systematically destroyed, enslaved, and uprooted.

No contradiction there

But still, the bible is just a book, not "living word of god."

I have posted on this subject before, in a more general way perhaps. There are a number of horrible inconsistancies and conflicting passages in the bible. Many are illustrated here...

http://www.evilbible.com/

I encourage Christians and agnostics to study that site and perhaps participate in the forums there. Be fore warned however, it will totally change your perspective on the bible AND in the forums, illogical arguements are not tolerated (arguements containing fallacy). It is an intense community set out to deconstruct the most influencial book in history.
