| Sign the Wal-Mart Bible Letter. Get the Bible banned at Wal-Mart stores! Here's the URL: The Bible Letter
Now, to head off any comments about censorship, or its wrong to ban any book, understand this (which the letter clearly explains). We are simply trying to get Wal-Mart to apply the same standard of decency to ALL the books it sells. As the letter states (and includes this link), Wal-Mart chose to ban Jon Stewart's book America because it included a mocked-up naked picture of the Supreme Court. If Wal-Mart finds a humorously intended anecdote offensive because it contains nudity, then they surely should find the Bible even more offensive (for the reasons listed in the letter).
Please help out this campaign with your support and spreading the word.

| This is ridiculous, in my opinion. The only reason I will not say that banning the Jon Stewart book is maybe NOT ridiculous is because of the nudity, which you can't just put on a store shelf as per the law.
If you believe in the bible, bully for you. (I've never heard of any bands of rampaging Christians murdering retail store clerks because they were working on Sunday). If you don't, then it is no more damaging than a random novel.
I bet you can find million of examples of potentially dangerous ideas in all sorts of novels. THe only difference here is that its the Bible - and people get all worked up when talking about religion they don't agree with.
Is anyone really in danger from Walmart-going Christians trying to enslave people, stone women, or kill infidels? |

Now, if you said they wont allow another religious book to be sold on the shelves then i would be concerned. As long as all religions can have the same spot on the shelf i don't have a problem. I don't think a political book that did have nudity in it should be compared to a religious text. |

| I agree with Melos and Palefrost. What a bizarre comparison to make. I won't shop at Wal-Mart because I don't like the way they treat their employees, but they can certainly decide what to sell and what not to sell. |

| I think that its a bit far-fetched to be honest but wonder if supermarkets should sell books anyway. |

| If you want them to stop selling the Bible, you should simply ask them to stop selling all books.
As to whether or not they should sell books, I've found that there are a lot of things sold by supermarkets that are highly questionable. |

| Hmm, well when I worked for Walmart, I didn't mind the extra couple bucks an hour that they paid me (as opposed to what I'd have been making at Kmart or a grocery store), the bonus check of $400 that they gave me each year because of profit sharing, and so forth. But maybe you are some type of ultra-capitalist and meant that they treat their employees too well? Just a joke, though I don't really understand half the criticisms of Walmart, especially when Union bosses do it, as though the unionized cashier working at Foodmart gets $12 an hour and has full health benefits or something! Now, talking about issues like Wally World putting mom and pop stores out of business is a bit different...
As far as the Bible in Walmart, eh, I doubt very many people are stopping to read through it while there standing there in the aisle.

| I could care less if the Bible is sold at Wal-Mart, K-Mart or anywhere else, but instead of banning it maybe we should request (like it would really work) that they carry all religious books of reference (that is what a Bible is to me a reference book with lots of stories to make a point). The founder of Wal-Mart was a very religious based man from what I understand and Wal-Mart was suppose to have his beliefs ingrained into it, that includes the Bible and all the other Christian based references that you will find throughout the stores in all Wal-Marts and Sam's Club stores. But the way they run thing now I'm thinking Christianity got tossed a long time ago, not enough room for religion and money so one had to go. |

| I can't see Wal Mart ever banning the Bible. Their image is tarnished enough- someday someone will bring the giant down- I hope I'm around to see it. |
