| All of us guys are.* Im just one of the few to publicly admit it! | you are still a little "oinker" even if you do admit to it ..... all you want to do is get ..... well you know what I am thinking .....
it is going to take more than getting men sexually sated and a sandwich to fix the world.Let's face it when we were kids who did all the neighborhood kids fear? Santa or someones Mom?
You betcha it was one of the Mom's ..... I was that Mom when Alex was little .... all the kids would hang out at our house .... I always gave out Popsicle's ... they never gave me any grief (other Mom's not so lucky) to this day I always have a bunch of teenagers at my house ... I don't give 'em beer, liquor, smokes or advice .... do feed them pizza a lot .... but they have a place to hang out without a parent checking constantly on them. They get in the hot tub, guys and girls .... I make an occasional appearance .... they are all honor students, I treat them as maturely as they act, I've been known to "yank a knot in a few tails" when they were 14 and cocky ... even made a few "non gratis" ...
the bottom line to this story is good Mom's could rule the world .... there are some good Dad's out there who could do it but most of them are too busy working to be the nurturer of the family .... I can already hear the enlightened men getting their boxers in a bunch but .... so be it. Once you guys deposit your "seed" it's all up to us ... for the most part ... to morph the kid into a human.
You guys have a three minute contribution in the process and we have a life time of commitment to it ... for clarification ... it's true that there are some lousy Moms out there and those dogs just have pups and send them on their way but a "Mom's" heart is into the process of taking the infant and sculpting it into what they hope is a contribution to society ... at least that's the kind of Mom I am ... they hope their child makes a difference, makes it better for their grandchild, their great grandchild ..... the guy .... it's all about getting to the sandwich part .... (okay a couple of you aren't oinkers like GX)

in the animal kingdom a female "presents" herself to the males when she is in season ... the rest of the time she has nothing to do with him for the most part .... kind of think the beasts of the world have got it right ....
women will band together to raise children ... men band together to fight other men .... women will run and hide with their children ... men will grab the male children able to hold a weapon and force him to fight ....
I dunno .... what cha think?

This may be true in a literal sense, but you cant discount the fact that people were motivated and found excuse to kill and behave brutally out of religious zealotry and religious self righteousness on an individual and group level. History is filled with such examples of wars and brutality in the name of religion. The biggest mistake man made in the quest for spirituality was to declare ultimate truth from words instead of from spirit and not seeing words for the mere low level tools that they are. | This is very true GX.
I agree 100% with everything you said about spirituality.
But as for religions as the reason for killing,
We can blame any institution of man for killing other men. So that leads me back to men killing men.
When push comes to shove, it is a few greedy people killing other people for the stuff they want. They will use anything to do it.
It is not religion. | Im not blaming the "religion" in and of itself for murder AB, Im just saying there are cases where men get motivation and excuses for killing from people that represent the religion and in the name of the religion because they come to sincerely believe that the religion justifies it. There is brainwashing going on here. Maybe the men at the top have ulterior motives but many a foot soldier has been seduced by the lies and truly believes what their religious superiors are telling them. Just look at the suicide bombers who scream "allahu akbar" before detonating themselves (that is but one of many examples). Its not as black and white as you say. There are many reasons men kill other men, dameedna came up with quite a list and killing in the name of religion cant be denied. | Yep, I agree mostly with you.
By this measure religion has helped as much as it hurt. Many have been seduced to give millions to other people out.
Religion is just a tool ... no more. Like a gun, use it to help or hurt. Remove the gun and we will use a knife to kill each other. | I agree with you 100% AB. Religion is just another tool we use to kill each other. When you look at all the "reasons" for killing, it comes down to one thing: need. People feel they need something they dont have or they want more of, be it land, riches, "love", religious superiority, power, control, cultural identity, you name it. The thing is, there is enough of all of that and people dont realize it. There is enough. Why do they feel the need? That is the subject of another thread... |

I was just making a point that religion is used as one of the many of the motivational tools. AB was giving me the impression that religion had nothing to do with it whatsoever which I disagreed with and we discussed it further and came to some understanding... |

And the myth that women have men figured out is hurting men and women around the globe imo.
We know that men like, no..LOVE sex and think about it and want it all the time.
That's pretty much about it. The rest we observe and draw our faulty conclusions from. And the men, being quite horrified at thier ancestors behaviour have been horsewhipped into believing this nonsense. Quote: |
I do think women would administrate the world far better than what you guys have done thus far.
| If ONE gender is responsible for administering to the needs of both genders, they will screw it up everytime.
You need BOTH..and the respect needs to come from both.
We don't have that, but I shudder at a world run by women in the same way I do, with a world run by men.
This would actually make a really good new thread. Gonna do it !!! | Interesting. I once read a quote that said the "battle of the sexes" would be over if women appealed to the males "root chakra" while the men appealed to the females "crown chakra". At present, both sexes are adamant about meeting their own needs and thinking they are right and therein lies the problem. |

| Deb, your priorities are in the right place and I applaud you for that.
I dont have children but my best friend passed away a year and a half ago and left 3 teenage sons. I call them often to see how they are and try my best to listen to them and see how they are doing. Of course I ask them about girls in their life but am more concerned with how they are doing, where they are going etc. Just goes to show that some of us oinkers can still have a heart! |

There are many gray areas .... one of them is called Britain.
Where kids, when they turn 18 are called adults.
