I'll ask again in this thread. Whose God? Is a God I can see because I personally can't see the God your talking about without proof It exists. All I need is Proof of your God Faith and I would be happy. I am beginning that you are thinking your God is you.

As promised, I finished my discussion of the Tower of Babel. It can be found at: Jeff's Stuff or, if people think it would be appropriate, I could repost it to another thread here.

I'm sure Faith would disagree with what I wrote. Still, I'd be interested in the reasons.

So faith, why can't I use the same logic on you? Don't bother expounding your theories on God since it only proves your incomprehension of science (a much more likely scenario).

That is what frightens me... That you will spread your superstition, fear of the unknown and ignorance of science and scientific methods (as has been done for thousands of years).

You are entitled to your beliefs. I just feel that they should be treated as just that, beliefs, not facts. Facts only come from proof and repeatability.

God could keep the carnivours calm and do anything else that he needed to do until the flood was over.
I didn't mean that the carnivores would need to be kept calm . . . I meant that they would need to eat. Since carnivores eat meat, even if we assume Noah was able to feed them on the ark, what about after they got off? Carnivores wouldn't be able to hunt without causing the extinction of several of the species that God had intended for the ark to save in the first place.

Faith, you have to admit that it implies some absurdities. I'm not saying it is impossible, but I am saying that it is absurd. I can deal with absurdity just fine, I just hate when people ignore it. God tells Noah to bring plenty of food for his family and the animals (Gen 6:21), but then the carnivores apparently don't need to eat (why not just do the same for all of the animals?). Plant life is somehow able to survive the flood, but the animals need a boat. The animals can't survive a flood, but they can survive the methane, carbon dioxide, and other gases that would build up in a giant boat with only one window. God goes out of his way to perform all of these miracles to make sure that everything on the ark can survive, but He doesn't even bother to tell Noah when it is time to come out . . . he needs birds for that. Hell, there are more miracles involved in making the whole ark story work in the first place than it would have taken God to simply make all of the creatures he wanted dead just suddenly drop dead.

And let's not forget that the flood story implies that a few thousand years ago, all life on earth was capable of surviving in the same climate. Compare that with what we have now, and young earth creationists are stuck with defending a much more drastic form of evolution than mainstream biologists.

I'm not trying to make fun of you, I believe in some absurd things too.

You can not point out absurdities to someone who clearly has no interest in reality or discernment of what he perceives. He's got his own little internal state and all of his efforts are to keep that state the way it is.

It's a futile effort as life continues to change, and one continues to get more experience, but he'll never realize this. He's closed off to the world. His idea of satan has him cowering in a corner of his mind afraid to step up and use the controls.

He's burried his head in the side. Burried his talent in the dirt. Out of fear. That's his predicament. Assaulting his stance on topics only causes him to reinforce his delusion.

Apparently his idea of God can do absolutely any literal feat in order to remain in connection with events in fantasy myth stories. There is no arguing with this. His side is irrational. Regardless of if your argument is rational or not, there is no communication that can possibly happen when dealing with an irrational individual.

There are many clinically studied dissociative disorders that parallel Faith's behavior. It's unfortunate, but there's not much that can be done.
