| Faith in Man I guess it takes a certain amount of "faith" in man to believe we will lieve long enough to discover all the secrets the univers has to offer us and not destroy ourselves in the process i.e. bring about armeggedon.
Working for the government as long as I have and being as interested in world politics as I am it seems has given me a somewhat unique perspective. I've seen and read about things. Plans, failsafes, and outside of the box thinking that may give me more reassurance than most in mankind's abilities. I sometimes even feel for religious people just as much as they feel for my eternal soul. (I've been told.). I feel for them because they don't have solid foundations to prop up their faith as I do. Heck I can turn on the Discovery Channel any day and see evidence that mankind's ability to innovate is amazing.
But that's just me... what about you? Do you have faith in man?

It can barely read let alone thinks it can survive. But I need not concern myself with it. No one here gets out alive, so who cares.

| It is hard for me to say if I have faith or believe in humanity. On a personal level, I have known people who have done horrendously damaging and illegal things to their own children, on the other hand I have known people who have conducted their lives honestly(I think) and have tried to be helpful and loving.
I know I beleive in myself and my significant other, but overall, I tend to be a little negative.
I think most people are selfish but that selfishness has led to improvements in the world of science and medicine and the quality of life for the most part. |

| Selfiness is a part of the ego...and we all have one of those. It's how we protect ourselves, it's how we acquire the things & people around us who help us grow. Of course, it can result in horrors unknown as well. It is just who we, as a race of ppl, are.
I have faith that the race will continue to protect itself and destroy itself at the same time. I have faith that we will predictably change the world. No doubt about it.

| I have faith in man. There will always be the bad apples, but we are still an amazing race of creatures. I mean, if you live in America, you probably have some grudge with at least some part of the government. But still, if you step back and look at things with perspective, our country is amazing. I think we are slowly starting to focus more and more on the impoverished nations in the world, and will start to provide substantial aid. I think that progress will get made with nuclear weapons, and we will not need them. I think there are horrible things in the world, all with the potential to destroy us. But overall, I think we shall persevere. Afterall, there must be something for every generation to overcome.

| Generally I think people are self centered and selfish. I also think education and exposure to the world brings us out of our selves generally.
I have hope. I am not negative on this question. The reason is that it is in the interest of self to be educated and exposed to the world. I think the further along our democracies go, the better off the world will be. There will always be problems to overcome that does not necessarily mean we will erraticate each other.
For two decades in Church all I ever heard was how evil the world is and how humanity is fallen. I have grown to dispise those lies. There is proof all around that humanity transends nature and circumstance. I really think as long as democracy survives and education is held in high esteem, we will continue to overcome obstacles.

| I think that maybe individuals are corrupted, but groups are not so bad. If you investigate an individual man's life, you will find all sorts of dark secrets. But a group tends to gravitate around a cause. And if we had to do something great to save ourselves, I am sure we could.
