forum history?

I'm just curious. Who started this forum? Is there an agnostic organization behind it? Were there some specific goals in mind when it was started? I looked for an "about us" link but couldn't find one.

I'm pretty sure that there is no organization behind it. This guy who's user name is "George" is the site creator but he's been MIA for a while. I'm just a guy that came across this place a while back and started contributing a lot. At that point he made me a moderator with a couple of other random people.

I don't know what george's motivations were or if he was part of an organization, but he never pushed any agenda that I was aware of.
