Happy to be a Heathen I'm glad to have found this board, it looks like a good place for some good conversation.
I consider myself right now an agnostic atheist, which is just saying I'm an agnostic, but with more of a leaning towards being a non-believer. I was brought up Unitarian Universalist, unfamiliar with biblical works, and familar with atheism.
I always considered myself a non believer, because when hearing the term "God" I cringed and still do. Although, I do use the term God frequently when frustrated, or Jesus Christ when I bang my knee or am cut off on the high way. Probably like a good number of people on this board, I have a big problem with many of the "moral" stands that the Church (Judeo- Christianity mostly) pushes/preaches and their doctrines.
While being a non-believer, I have always questioned my own belief system and how I could be so definate on something which I have no proof on. Even if the almighty showed itself to me, it still wouldn't play a role in my life. As the title says I'm happy to be a heathen. |
