This study from the University of Chicago represents some of the rights of ancient women in Egypt. I still feel as though my question to you is unanswered. Why would 'God' or the congregation if it is acting in the name of God treat women as less than equal inside the congregation when imperfect men treated them as equal in other aspects of day to day life?

This teaching would in fact speak to God being sexist. Instead I think that the writers of certain Bible passages were sexist and in fact the Bible is not entirely representative of a perfect Godly figure for worship.

"there was no differentiation between women and men in terms of political rights in the sense that both sexes were equally subject to the Romans. But the release of land to ownership by women conferred on them a share equal to men's share in the chief means of production"
