who's Oprah???? just kidding'

this thread is/was on emotions correct? Isn't it often hormonal issues that cause emotions to get out of control? Testosterone or estrogen ... both trigger emotional response in people.

In our medical practice when we would begin hormonal therapy for gender transition it was evident that hormones play a radical role in emotions. While I was involved in that field of medicine, it was a fascinating study in human dynamics and hormone replacement. We could most often tell when a M to F was getting to much estrogen by their behavior without correlating blood test and also with the F to M getting too much testosterone. Much/many of emotions is/are chemical based or chemically triggered and that person often has no control over the emotions triggered by that chemical reaction. Once we thought we were onto something we began a limited study on our observations in our practice patient population ... that's when we began to do blood lab work to verify our beliefs/theory that it was the hormones eliciting the emotions we observed. We never did a statistical analysis of the data but it was clear our observations of radical emotional swings were tied to much of the hormone being utilized.

I love the dynamics of women and men ... don't always understand the motives behind certain aspects but there is a reason we "fit" together anatomically. If you get the right balance in the relationship it's great if unbalanced .... nightmare.
