I really enjoy reading, though I've not really read any books that I would say "changed my life". If I had to choose the one that came closest, though, I'd say: Sex and Society in the World of the Orthodox Slavs, 900-1700 by Eve Levin. That book gives more information than you would ever want about how the Orthodox Slavs dealt with the issue of sex, and it was a bit of an eye opener for me as an Orthodox Christian. For example, they believed that any miscarriage that happened was the fault of the mother, and she was excommunication for a year.
