I think Cruise definitely did himself in with his crazy antics. Not necessarily with the movie studio, but with the fans. And that's what lead the movie studio to let him go, he wasn't bringing in the fans because of his behavior... especially the big ticket females who used to love him before his rant on Post Partum.
