What a great thread,
I've enjoyed "Mere Christianity" and "Mists of Avalon" before. I am not a christian anymore so I think it would be interesting to read Mere Christianity again with a new perspective. Mists of Avalon got me thinking about the tyranny of christianity and the ancient beliefs of our ancestors, and thinking about they way the belief in a Goddess used to empower women. It is interesting to see how belief systems affect society.
Books that have impacted my life are
The Faith: A History of Christianity
A History of Jews, God, and Israel
Collapse & Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond
"Why God Won't Go Away: Brian Science and the Biology of Belief" by Dr. Andrew Newberg |
