Sorry for not picking up on the liguistic nuance using the global "we". I get what you are saying.

I would prefer to compare WTC to Pearl Harbor. The comparison works better for analysis.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki are unfortunate casualties of unfettered war. We developed a better bomb to end the war. We used it. Since too many of my family was serving in the Pacific Theater during that war, I refuse to condemn the use of atomic weapons to end that war.
