Substitute the word worship with the words "identify with". Semantics have made a mess of things over the years by well meaning followers.
In my world, there is no prayer or worship because there are no deities.
Nothing between this human soul and the sea of conscious energy it came from.
When you make the realization that all souls are just an extension of a singular conscious source, the idea of worship no longer makes any sense.
Because this is such a hard concept for most to get a grip on, religion gives the divine human qualities for the sake of understanding. This is why "God" is seen by many as a father figure, and Jesus as a son.
Jesus "identified with" the divine. He didn't worship it because to such a person, there is no seperation.
