It's not about whether something is useful or not, it's as simple as judging things for what they are. This ties in very closely to our discussion we had on A=A. All this talk about nobody being better than anyone else is just the ego looking to protect itself from taking responsibility for itself. Of course this is not to be miscontrued with the false idea that someone or something is better than another in an absolute sense.
