There are lots of versus that express this:
Proverbs 15:8
The LORD detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.
Ecclesiastes 2:26
To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
Ecclesiastes 7:26
I find more bitter than death the woman who is a snare, whose heart is a trap and whose hands are chains. The man who pleases God will escape her, but the sinner she will ensnare.
Colossians 3:20
Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
1 Timothy 2:3
This is good, and pleases God our Savior,
1 John 3:22
and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.
But regardless of whether certain things do or do not please God according to some ancient book that is the compilation of many unrelated writers, my question is whether or not God is happy - not pleased. Would you be happy living forever and having no surprises in your life? |
It's like Tuck Everlasting, except for them they DO have surprises in their life.
