Calculate the odds of the specific sperm in a specific ejaculation being the one to impregnate your mom on that specific ovulation cycle. Millions and millions of sperm cells, many opportunities, etcetera. That's the odds of your specific genetic code coming from your parents' union.

Now cube that - your parents were both equally unlikely. Keep factoring in more generations, the odds grow exponentially.

Taking just you, the odds of your existence are astronomical. When you take into consideration your parents and grandparents, it's even less likely.

All the could-have-beens that don't exist now. Millions on millions of maybe-people. You could so easily have been one of them, but you're not.
