You still have an incorrect view of science (and possibly life?) In science there is no proof of anything!
Science gathers evidence, postulates a hypothesis, then we try with all our skill to demolish that hypothesis. After a respectable effort, and if the hypothesis survives, it becomes a theory. A theory is something that has failed to be disproven. But good scientists never give up.
A higher power ... higher than what, man? Do you mean beyond the reach of science. Do mean beyond comprehension? I presume you mean a deity ... just curious to what flavour of higher power are you referring?
So you don't distinguish between the love of money and that of a child.
