In the spirit of the original post ...these are directions I have taken in life.
alcohol - yes
smoking - luckily every time I tried to smoke I had consumed copious/sufficient alcohol. The two did not mix and aversion therapy did its trick.
promiscuity - neither the need nor the opportunity have arisen
drugs - no; unlike a certain eminent president I have not smoked marijuana and I did
not not-inhale. Never trusted myself with drugs if the truth beknown. Drink coffee tea etc though....
religion - dabbled extremely mildly, peaked 37 y ago.
But I'm far from convinced (looking back) that these are choices I have made, more likely I have been influenced/programmed by the company I have kept, experiences I have had, books I have read .... etc. The sraight and narrow (edge) is just part of a society's ever changing set of rules ...... so kay's straight edge bends with time and location.
