Default Why worship Jesus?

I have been wondering this for a while now:
Why are we supposed to worship Jesus?
If god is the greatest, the one and only, if he is "Da Man", "Da God", if he is the one we should go to and the one that will save us or condemn us, why not go straight to him, why not talk to him?
Don't you think christians are placing god in second place right behind Jesus?
Wasn't Jesus mission to give us the message of his father in order to get us closer to HIM? Isn't god supposed to be the "main entree", the "main attraction"? Then why are we thought to worship Jesus? Ok, he had a major role in christian history, but still he is the supporting actor in the play, but it seems he is going over the main actor.

"And the Oscar goes to... JESUS"

To me this is like worshiping a priest just because he showed me the way to god. Thats his job, you know. I should not worship my church's priest just because he pointed me in the right direction, or should I?

Im not a christian or anything, and when I say we, I refer to people in general. I'm writing this because it doesn't make sense to me and I wanted to know what other agnostic think about this .
