Default Hello

Hi,

I just found out about this forum from someone on the Brights forum. I look forward to learning more about what other people who call themselves agnostics believe.

I was raised by a protestant mother and an agnostic father who met in a church. I guess Dad decided he was agnostic after they got married. Dad would expect Mom to explain the rationality behind her beliefs so she pretty much just didn't go to church to avoid having to do so. As a teenager I experimented with various protestant churches, but I didn't inhale.

I am now married to a Catholic woman and we have two children (4 and 6). Before we were married we agreed that she would be allowed to raise the children Catholic but that they would get to decide for themselves when they are old enough. My plan is to make sure they have the critical thinking skills they need to figure it out for themselves when they get old enough.

I have considered myself an agnostic for a long time now. I have also been calling myself a Bright for about a year now. Depending on the situation I may use either or both terms to describe myself.
