It may as well. It encourages child abuse in the name of god.
According to the authors, it is never too early to start switching your kids. Infancy is no barrier to hitting with weapons ("switches"). One of the authors admits to burning (but no mark) at least one kid and kicking another into a pond.
It's a book (and an entire industry) that many fundamentalist christians (think dresses only, homeschooling, home churching, man is ALWAYS the head of woman) follow. Once upon a time, I lurked on a support forum for people who adhered to the philosphies espoused in the book. One sicko not only admitted the abuses she inflicted on her own children, but also admitted the cruelties she inflicted on the kids she babysat.
