I'm not American either.... definitely a foreigner... I too would be happy to share my perspectives.
The original question reminds of a friend's observation on South Africa in the days of apartheid..... "The world has many misconceptions about South Africa, but not as many South Africa has about the rest of the world."
I suspect this could be equally true of many nations; but, I fear it could be all too true for the United States.
