So the bible only has snippets of value?

I agree whole heartedly regarding the literal truth of the Bible ...some bits and pieces may or may not be historically accurate. For me it's not even worth debating. But I can't help seeing value in the metaphors found within the Bible?
Neither can I (help seeing value in the metaphors found within the Bible). There's a lot of truth in those metaphors. It's just not the complete and total truth it, or any other religious text, claims to be. That's because, regardless of the purity of their inceptions, they've all been adulterated with various political and cultural expediencies that water them down based on the times and places they were developed. More basically, they all represent a "leap of faith" in an inherently illogical effort to have a single system that provides answers to all of life's questions.

None of them do, and it's my guess that none of them ever will. But I remain open to the possibility despite how far short such attempts have historically fallen.
