Its not the believing in something without proof that is directly the problem. What makes someone vulnerable is that people don't question their beliefs because an authority has told them not to. Some believers don't question their beliefs because they don't question authority.
Spiral Dynamics is partly about moral attitudes and development. Someone at the Blue meme(4th stage) values social authority over all else. So, the scenario of this experiment would be most problematic for people centered at this stage which is a fairly large percentage of the world's population at present. |
