I could never force a religion on a child, either. I was raised Presbyterian, and my mother explained to me that it was so I would learn about that religion as well as a few others (I was lucky and had an open congregation that discussed others' beliefs). When I was old enough, I could decide whether or not I wanted to adhere to that belief system. I envision doing the same thing myself when I have kids of my own. |
