there seems to be confusion about Mormonism here....

Mormons do teach that there is a Son of God..... however, they teach we are ALL literal children of God and his wife goddess. Jesus was the first son, Lucifer the second son, then the rest of us followed. And, even tho they teach that "Jesus is the Son of God", they usually fail to mention that they believe they are completely seperate beings, and not one as Christians believe.
I see no confusion here - we were not addressing this aspect of mormonism. By the way, I used to be mormon. While it is technically true they believe everyone (including Christ and Satan) literally are brothers and sisters and sons and daughters of God, the goddess wife is not emphasized. Christ however is special because not only is he the first born "spiritually" of God, like the rest of us humans, but Christ is also the literal physical offspring of God (the only one), the rest of us are not. Also, while mormons do believe that Christ and God are two separate physical beings, it is still believed they are one - in purpose, in likeness, in will, etc. Jeez, can you all believe I used to believe all this with all my heart and soul. Just goes to show that anyone can see through the fog.

Mocopo, you are right that mormons believe different things are god and the godhead (or trinity as most christians call it) but I think there are lots of differences even between mainstream christians as well. Regardless, christianity has about as much to stand on as mormonism in my humble opinion. But I'm derailling the thread, so back to the topic - when I was mormon I used to quote scripture all the time in daily conversation - now it bugs me when other people do, I don't judge though because I used to be there.

See I told you mormonism isn't mickey mouse.
