Something that continually amazes me about the evangelical right is their propensity for basing policies and programs on what they wish the world were like as opposed to what it's really like.
With regard to the sex education issue, you may wish all day long that young people would act like the adults they haven't yet become and take under advisement the potential negative ramifications of having sex and simply not do it. But the reality is that they're gonna do it. Always have, always will. It's just to much fun not to do it once you've reached an age where you can. So you can wish they wouldn't do it and continue to preach to them about all the reasons not to, or you can accept reality and provide them with the means, e.g. condoms, to ameliorate the negative consequences when they inevitably do it. |
Well of course they're going to do it, hell i do it. It' just good to know what your doing.
