As you know, they reject Jesus because they say he's not the Messiah, they reach that conclusion by going through the Bible with a magnifying glass looking at every word as if it was a long legal document full of small print, (no wonder there are so many Jewish lawyers around, they

Fact is neither they (nor you or anybody else) should read the Bible in that fashion, rather you should look at the
spirit behind the words rather than the printed words themselves.
Jesus had to tell people the same thing, namely to get their noses out of their heavyweight volumes and to simply glance up to see him standing right in front of them -
"You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life." (John 5:39)
