This is coming from someone who has never experienced anything having to do with suicide, either personally or as someone left behind, Buddah, Duck, Geshtinnana, tell me what you think.

I would say I agree with Duck that suicide is "selfish" (in the most understanding of the term possible), but there's so much more to it. Its just so easy, and does not benefit anyone, and hurts many. Its an escape, its the easy way out. I'm a cancer survivor, and know of stories of people who become so overwhelmed with the disease that they would rather kill themselves than suffer through the treatment or the concept that they will die.

But I respect strength, power. I will defend those who are weak, but the weak must at all times fight for strength. One has got to be strong. STRONG. Even when facing insurmountable odds, where its so hard, so painful, every waking second makes one feel that its a living hell, one must have the strength to stand up and FIGHT. FIGHT for all you've ever wanted. That you will live to see all those things through, if not for yourself, then for others. To PROVE, if not to others then at least yourself, that you will not succumb to this terrible hand destiny/chance has dealt you. That you will not become yet another victim. That you are strong and you will stand up straight, head up, and take on whatever it is is going after you. that you will stand up and yell out THIS IS MY NAME AND I WILL NOT BE DENIED!!

Suicide is just a way to escape, to give up. I'm so glad to hear Geshtinnana that your fighting your disease, and that you know that suicide does have consequences that cannot be undone. Just describing the pain suicide causes to others as selfish is counterproductive, since it will only make the person who is already beaten and destroyed feel even worse.

If anyone reading this is contemplating suicide or giving up at anything, don't. This is life is worth living because of all the things you've ever wanted to do, and you've got to fight to do so. Even if you feel you are weak, you are only as weak as you believe yourself to be, you must be strong. Even if things don't work out, you must keep fighting, only death will defeat you. You must not allow yourself to be defeated before hand. You must be strong
